It would come as no shock that when job seekers are looking for their newest endeavour, a good work-life balance is sometimes at the top of the list of what they’re looking for.
Unfortunately, a good work-life balance isn’t always just dependent on a specific company; countries around the world also rank differently when it comes to work-life balance.
One such ranking is the Global Life-Work Balance Index by HR-tech company Remote.
This ranking takes statutory annual leave, minimum statutory sick pay percentage, and amount of paid maternity leave into consideration.
Here are the top ten countries with the best work-life balance according to Remote:
1. New Zealand
2. Spain
3. France
4. Australia
5. Denmark
6. Norway
7. Netherlands
8. UK
9. Canada
10. Brazil
Another ranking, the OECD's Better Life Index, also ranks these countries according to how many hours employees work and how much time people devote to leisure and personal care.

4. Spain
5. Netherlands
6. France
7. Sweden

Considering the findings based on both rankings, BBC Travel also compiled a top-five list of countries with the best work-life balance:
1. New Zealand

So, if you're considering a move to a job with a better work-life balance, you might want to consider an international move.
