Criminal profiler Prof. Gérard Labuschange tells of South Africa’s bizarre crimes
Prof. Gérard Labuschange’s new book, 'Profiler Diaries', will be available in stores from 10 March.
In his book, former South African Police Service (SAPS) head profiler Dr Gérard Labuschagne, successor to the legendary Micki Pistorius, recalls some of the 110 murders and countless other bizarre crimes he analysed during his career. From cases of cannibalism, terrorism, and murder to rape and paedophilia, Labuschagne saw it all in his fourteen and a half a years at the SAPS.
He walks the reader through the first crime scene he ever attended, his arrest of the Muldersdrift serial rapist, his experience as the head of the task team mandated to catch the Quarry serial murderer, his involvement with the Oscar Pistorius case, and much more.

Dr. Gérard Labuschange says: “The profiler analyses the crime scene. You get an in into the criminal mind. There is a difference from country to country in the way that the country operates."
