The Dadness releases first-ever single
Breakfast with Martin Bester's dad band, The Dadness, is releasing their first-ever single.
In 2024, Breakfast with Martin Bester searched far and wide to find the perfect four dads to form its very own dad band.
In the lead-up to Father's Day, we asked children to nominate their dads if they thought they had what it took to be part of a dad band.
After the nominations flooded in, our team selected eight finalists with the best entries, after which the public got to vote for their favourites.
Finally, Breakfast with Martin Bester found the four dads to join South Africa's first-ever dad band.
What's a band without a name?
The next step was to find a suitable name for our dad band.
After much consideration and input from our listeners, The Dadness was born.
The Dadness made their performance debut on Breakfast with Martin Bester’s Friday Live on Friday, June 14.

The Dadness has been hard at work, and now they are releasing their first-ever single, 'Take Me Back'.

As a teenager and young adult living with them, he always came to sit in my room and hear what happened in my day. Always lots to tell in an entrepreneurial journey.
