What is the most important thing you look for in a partner? Romance? A good sense of humour? Kindness? Or how about a good credit score?

Well, no judgement from us; being financially stable is a big part of our happiness and overall well-being, and the new dating app, Score, can give users exactly that.

Score believes that users can have all the benefits of a relationship, like romance and kindness, while also looking for someone financially secure.

The new dating app requires people who sign up to prove they have what's considered a good credit score — at least 675 or better in the USA.

Score was released on Valentine’s Day by the financial platform Neon Money Club.

According to TechCrunch, the app seeks to raise awareness about the importance of finances in relationships.

"We need to take the conversation to areas where finance isn’t traditionally discussed," Luke Bailey, co-founder and CEO of Neon Money Club, told TechCrunch

"Before you can educate people, you need to get their attention. With Score, we're bringing the conversation to dating."

If you think this might be a superficial way of finding love, TechCrunch also reports that financial issues are one of the leading causes of divorce in the USA.

The same is true for South Africa. Pauw Attorneys ranked financial stress as the number one reason for divorce on their list of leading causes.
