Earn a deposit when returning a plastic bottle of Coke
Updated | By Breakfast with Martin Bester
Remember when we used to return a glass bottle at the grocery store for R2?
Well, you can do it again, except this time with plastic bottles! The special returnable plastic Coke, Sprite, and Fanta bottles will only be available in certain areas.
Tshwane, Limpopo, the Eastern Cape and Mpumalanga are the Provinces where Coca-Cola will launch their new two-liter returnable bottles made of PET plastic that can be returned, for a bargain!
These bottles roughly cost R2 more than the ‘normal’ bottles but you will able to get R9 back on your next PET bottle purchase.

Once the bottle is returned, it can be used up to 14 times.
Coca-Cola Beverages South Africa will launch this recycle initiative across the rest of the country over the next five years – just look for the green band on the bottle!

A Twitter user feels strongly about recyling of plastic bottles.
Plastic bottle deposit and return scheme is the best way to properly manage plastic bottle waste. I wish companies like coca-cola stop fighting it! Its good for the environment, it's good for everyone...that's the direction we should be going. pic.twitter.com/puWuq4dRFb
