Easy at-home Margarita recipe to celebrate Margarita Day

In case you didn't know, National Margarita Day is a thing, and it's celebrated every year on February 22.
Humans really don't need too much of a reason to celebrate things and could quite possibly make a special occasion out of just about anything.

Take the 22nd of February for example, when millions of people around the world will celebrate the iconic cocktail – The Margarita.
Is this something we asked for? No! Is it something we love? Definitely.
This year, Breakfast with Martin Bester also decided to celebrate National Margarita Day by sharing a classic Margarita recipe.

Here is a super easy Margarita recipe:
Ingredients:
- 60 ml tequila
- 30 ml triple sec or orange liqueur
- 22.5 ml fresh lime juice
- 15 ml simple syrup (adjust to taste)
- Ice cubes
- Salt (for rimming the glass, optional)
- Lime wedge (for garnish)
Instructions:
- If you like, rim the glass with salt: Moisten the rim of a glass with a lime wedge and dip it into salt to coat the rim.
- In a shaker, combine the tequila, triple sec, fresh lime juice, and simple syrup.
- Add ice to the shaker and shake the mixture well for about 15-20 seconds to chill the ingredients.
- Strain the mixture into the prepared glass over ice.
- Garnish with a lime wedge on the rim of the glass.
- Enjoy your classic Margarita!
Feel free to adjust the simple syrup to achieve your desired level of sweetness, and don't hesitate to experiment with different types of tequila and orange liqueur to suit your taste preferences.
If you want to make it a mocktail:
Ingredients:
- 60 ml lime juice
- 30 ml orange juice
- 30 ml simple syrup (adjust to taste)
- 120 ml sparkling water or soda water
- Ice cubes
- Salt (for rimming the glass, optional)
- Lime wedge (for garnish)
Instructions:
- If desired, rim the glass with salt: Moisten the rim of a glass with a lime wedge and dip it into salt to coat the rim.
- In a shaker or mixing glass, combine the lime juice, orange juice, and simple syrup.
- Add ice cubes to the shaker or mixing glass and shake/stir well to chill the mixture.
- Strain the mixture into the prepared glass over fresh ice.
- Top off the drink with sparkling water or soda water.
- Garnish with a lime wedge on the rim of the glass.
- Enjoy your refreshing Virgin Margarita mocktail!
This mocktail version offers the same refreshing citrus taste of a traditional Margarita without the alcohol.
