Energy expert Ted Blom is hopeful after promise of transition to a low-carbon economy

The maintenance of Eskom’s infrastructure has been a hot topic recently.
Energy expert Ted Blom joined Breakfast with Martin Bester to share more of the current state of Eskom after South Africans experienced rolling blackouts for days.
Ted Blom is a senior energy, mining, and commodities strategist and tactician.

Blom is extremely disappointed in the state of our country, especially the current state of Eskom.
How long will it take to turn the ship around, Martin Bester asks.
Ted Blom answers: “It will take a while. Probably ten years.”

This comes after South Africa on Tuesday won a commitment from a group of rich nations for at least $8.5-billion and technical assistance to help the country's transition to a low-carbon economy.
