Wikipedia's most popular English articles of 2024

Each year, Wikipedia, the free online community encyclopedia, reveals its most searched topics for the year.

In the latest analysis of the most-searched English articles, politics, sports, and movies led the pack of topics that were read the most.

In 2024, people spent an estimated 2.4 billion hours – about 275,000 years –reading English Wikipedia, while volunteer editors added nearly 3.5 billion bytes of information through over 31 million edits, according to the Wikimedia Foundation.

Among all this reading, a few topics stood out.
