Did you experience load shedding this weekend? Energy expert Ted Blom sheds light on the issue.
Eskom, the state-owned entity, has suspended load shedding for now.
It has once again blamed insufficient maintenance over several years. The power utility is also currently experiencing a leadership crisis with its chairman Jabu Mabuza resigning on Friday, according to JacaNews.
Breakfast with Martin Bester was joined by energy expert Ted Blom, who shed light on the issue and talked about the power outlook for 2020.

"According to my reports, corruption is still going strong at Eskom," Blom said.
"The old board of 2018 should've never been appointed - they have no knowledge. They had no idea what they were doing and now were are sitting with this problem.
"Eskom said that there will be no load shedding - if we get load shedding some heads must roll. If any of the big units blow during this time, the system will be in a critical situation and we will face massive load shedding.
"Another big problem is that Eskom is not managed by managers, but by political hands.
"There is a lot to learn and I give the new CEO about two years before he will fully understand the logistics of Eskom."
