Firearm sales increase in South Africa

Do you own a gun or are planning to purchase one?
According to The Witness, more people are purchasing licences to own a gun to ensure their safety after the unrest which rocked Gauteng and KwaZulu-Natal.
KwaZulu-Natal Premier Sihle Zikalala declared the province as a state of disaster on 29 July 2021 due to the civil unrest.

Billions of Rands in damage was caused during the violence and looting in KZN. The violence was sparked by the jailing of former president Jacob Zuma - and soon spread to Gauteng.
This led to South Africans wanting and needing to arm themselves against possible danger.

Martin Bester spoke to Jonathan Deal, founder and national co-ordinator of Safe Citizen. The organisation promotes legal gun ownership. Deal believes legal, cautious firearm ownership is key to protection in the current landscape in South Africa.
