Forensic Psychologist Dr Gérard Labuschagne shares his views on kidnappings

The violence towards women and children is taking its toll on South Africa. Forensic Psychologist Dr Gérard Labuschagne shares his views on the South African crime situation.
On Monday, South Africa was shocked by the horrifying news of the death of a South African student and the kidnapping of a six-year-old girl.

The country was in absolute pain - so Breakfast with Martin Bester invited Forensic Psychologist Dr Gérard Labuschagne to share some insight on the current state of the country.
"Kidnapping is very broad - if someone would lock us up in this room - that is kidnapping," he said.
"Social media does not help when it comes to kidnapping - it sometimes increases the ransom. Let the police do their job.
"Where there is money involved, that kidnapping would normally be planned."
