Marina Appelbaum thanked Martin Bester for his help in ensuring the safe return of her beloved red ducky.
Marina Appelbaum, owner of the Old Ducky French Café in Pineslopes, Fourways, urged community members to help her find her missing red ducky.
The red ducky, with white racing stripes and a big "01" on its side, is part of Appelbaum's extensive collection of rubber duckies.

This specific duck was displayed outside the café, showcasing the café’s 'Best of Joburg Reader's Choice' award.
"The duck, which is red, was from my private collection. It is large with a racing stripe on it. It is part of a six-duck family that consists of large ducks," Appelbaum recalled.
Appelbaum believes it had to be a customer or a passerby who took the ducky after visiting the café.
Breakfast with Martin Bester first caught wind of the incident via the Fourways Review and quickly reached out to Appelbaum.
According to the Fourways Review, the red ducky vanished on January 12, and although a plea to community members for its safe return made waves on social media, it has still not been found.
"We have reached over 30,000 people, and still no sign of our red racing ducky. The community has been amazing in sharing, and every day, they ask about him. No leads."

Appelbaum is offering an R1,000 reward for its safe return.
"I thought that a cash reward of R1,000 was better than a free meal. I want my ducky back. The red duck is part of our ducky family."
On Wednesday, 29 January, Marina shared the amazing news that she was once again reunited with her beloved ducky.
"Our beloved red duck has returned home where he belongs."
After receiving a tip-off that an informal trader was attempting to sell him under the bridge on Winnie Mandela Drive, Marina herself leapt into action and brought him back to his nest safely.
Marina also expressed her gratitude to Martin Bester as her conversation on Breakfast with Martin Bester helped ensure the safe return of the red ducky.
