Phase 1 of the proposed Gauteng Rapid Rail Integrated Network (GRRIN) was confirmed on Wednesday, 25 May.

Phase 1 of the GRRIN's new route will start in Little Falls located to the east of Hendrik Potgieter Road in Willowbrook.

The new route will then pass through Zandspruit, Cosmo City, Randburg, Bordeaux, Hurlingham, and Sandhurst.
From Sandhurst, the route will conclude at the existing Sandton station, which will reportedly be upgraded.
The new routes will ensure that more Gauteng residents will have access to the railway.
