Believe it or not, but you might have been charging your smartphone incorrectly this whole time!
According to the Citizen, there are correct and incorrect ways to charge one's smartphone.
Here is a list of things to do to take better care of your smartphone's battery:
1. Don't charge your smartphone to 100%
It is advised that you should only charge your smartphone up to 80%. Reportedly, it is also better to not let your smartphone discharge completely. Once your phone reaches 30%, you should set it to charge up to 80%.

2. Do not let your smartphone exceed 45 degrees C
It is best to prevent your smartphone from reaching 45 degrees C or above in order to protect its lifespan.
One way to avoid this is by not being active on your smartphone while it is charging. One should also avoid leaving your smartphone in direct sunlight when charging. To prevent overheating, it is advised to charge your phone at night.

3. Don't charge your smartphone overnight
Lastly, it is advised not to charge your phone overnight. Keeping your smartphone connected to the charger after it has reached 100% can damage the various components of the battery. Most smartphones today detect when their battery is full, but it is better to avoid this bad habit.
