'Hot rodent men' are the internet's newest obsession
Never thought we'd hear the words 'hot and 'rodent' in the same sentence…
It seems that people on the internet have a new obsession each week, with a new term, video or meme going viral daily.
The latest obsession that has been plaguing social media timelines is 'hot rodent men or the 'sexy rat boyfriend.'

It sounds horrible, we know, but it's actually supposed to be a compliment for men who have a particular look.
Any man falling into this category is currently the most desirable thing on the internet, but what exactly does it mean?
Here is the lowdown:
The Look
'Hot rodent men' or the 'sexy rat boyfriend' refers to someone whose looks represent that of a mouse or rat.
They usually share these common physical features:
- Svelte as opposed to muscular
- Angular facial structure
- Prominent ears
- Sunken/beady eyes
- Unkempt hair
- Pale – to the extent they could very well be calcium deficient.
The Personality
Although this new label mostly refers to a man's appearance, certain personality traits go along with it.

Usually, these men convey the opposite of toxic masculinity.
They might also be described as less traditionally masculine (depending on what masculinity means to you), which in turn means they might feel less threatening.
Many have referred to this as Gen Z’s equivalent of what Millennials would refer to as a "hipster" or "indie guy".
