'J is for Jesus': Jameson Christmas tree sparks controversy
Updated | By Breakfast with Martin Bester
A Christmas tree with the words "Jameson" instead of "Jesus" underneath has sparked outrage over the true meaning of Christmas.
Ashley Sauls, a member of the National Assembly and known as Om Biza Vannie Park on TikTok, recently shared his disdain for a Jameson-branded Christmas tree in Sandton.
The alcohol brand's name and logo were placed at the bottom and top of the tree, respectively, along with the phrase "Must Be A Jameson".

Taking to TikTok, Sauls expressed his outrage over the green-lit Christmas tree, asking, "This Christmas is 'J' for Jesus or Jameson?"
The Patriotic Alliance MP emphasised that the "Christ" in Christmas represents a celebration of Jesus.
"I feel so disgusted by this," he said. "To use alcohol to then align with this season, Suid-Afrika, julle vang gemors aan."
