Johnny Clegg’s son records birthday tribute to his father

In an emotional message, Jesse Clegg said his father regarded his role to his family as his most important duty. This song is about family.
Johnny Clegg, a true South African legend who has made and continues to make an indelible mark on music history, has been honoured in a song written by his son, which they performed together before his passing.
His career has spanned decades, and he has a place in the hearts of many South Africans and global citizens. Those hearts broke when Johnny Clegg announced that he was battling cancer.
Before he performed, Jesse said: "In 2017 my dad and I wrote a song together. It's a song about the things in life that you can't replace. To my dad, that was his family."

This Sunday, 7 June, would’ve been Johnny Clegg’s birthday and his son has recorded a tribute, ‘I’ve Been Looking’, to his father.
Jesse said: "Sunday is my dad’s birthday and it is the first time we will have to celebrate it without him. This song is very important because it is the first collaboration we ever did together."
