“We all need a lot of love to walk through this life.”
Lady Gaga performed the chart-topping song, ‘Hold My Hand’, which she wrote for the ‘Top Gun: Maverick’ soundtrack alongside American musician BloodPop.
She blew away the audience when she stepped out on the Oscars stage to perform a completely stripped-down version of the song on Sunday evening.

“It’s deeply personal for me, and I think that we all need each other. We all need a lot of love to walk through this life, and we all need a hero sometimes,” Gaga said before the emotional performance.

“You might find that you can be your own hero even if you feel broken inside,” she continued.
Gaga brought the entire audience to their feet after performing the Oscar-nominated song.
According to Access Hollywood, the performance was dedicated to 'Top Gun'’s original director, Tony Scott, who passed away in 2012.

The Grammy winner wore a plain black T-shirt, ripped jeans, and All-Stars, and no make-up for the stripped-down performance.
Gaga did, however, appear on the red carpet earlier in the evening, where she turned heads in a black Versace gown.
This comes after it was originally said that the pop star would not be performing at the 2023 Academy Awards.
