Large sinkhole forms in Centurion suburb

A new Sinkhole has formed in the Lyttleton suburb of Centurion.
Centurion residents have been warned to use alternative routes after Burger Road was completely closed due to a massive sinkhole.

The large sinkhole in Lyttleton Manor in Centurion formed overnight on Saturday, 5 August.
What was first a hole in the road later became a giant sinkhole extending across the street by Sunday morning.
According to photos shared on social media, at least two properties had been affected by the large sinkhole.

One house’s gate and boundary wall had sunken in completely.
According to Pretoria Rekord, officials were already arranging to cut the water supply as the sinkhole filled with water from a water pipe.
