Liesl Laurie bids Jacaranda FM a fond farewell
After seven years at Mzansi’s favourite radio station, Liesl Laurie hangs up her earphones for the last time on Thursday 30 June.
Liesl Laurie started her journey at Jacaranda FM in 2016 shortly after completing her reign as Miss South Africa 2015 and ends her exciting chapter at Jacaranda FM as part of the award-winning and much loved 'Breakfast with Martin Bester' team. The team won the South African Radio Award for Best Breakfast Show on a commercial station last year.
“Mid-year is the regular point for contract renewal in our business cycle, we spoke with Liesl about our collective priorities and made a decision to close this chapter together.” Comments Hennie Myburgh, Jacaranda FM Programme Manager.
Liesl started her journey at Jacaranda FM on Sunday evenings 08:00 pm to midnight, went on to host her own show – The CTM Top 20 with Liesl Laurie every Saturday, and eventually joined radio master - Martin Bester as part of the breakfast show on weekdays.
“Saying goodbye is never easy, I’m going to miss the morning family as well as Martin and the JacaBreakfast team, but I’m so thankful for this experience and to have grown in a medium I have so much love and respect for,” said Liesl Laurie.
Listeners can continue listening to their favourite morning family from 06:00 to 09:00 every weekday, where familiar Jacaranda FM faces will be keeping Martin Bester and Xola Ntshinga company until a new team member announcement is made.
