Liesl Laurie punches through thick plank and takes her power back!
Updated | By Breakfast with Martin Bester
Mark Grobelaar joined Martin Bester and Liesl Laurie in studio to teach women about self-defence in South Africa.
INpowered started out as “Woman INpowered”, after Mark had written his thesis on self-defence – and was inspired by rape survivor Alison Botha.
Mark and Alison Botha met in London in 1990, and in December 1994, Alison was abducted outside her home by two men who raped, stabbed, and disembowelled her, leaving her for dead.
No one could believe that anyone with such severe injuries survived. Alison’s inner strength and determination, her lack of bitterness, serenity and humility captured the attention of the whole of South Africa.

Mark, after reading about the attack in the press and after much persistence, managed to make contact with Alison and they realised that they share a belief that there is a need for a self-INpowerment system that is specifically designed for woman of all ages.
Protection can be the difference between life and death.
You cannot make it up as you go along. You need rules.
Mark taught Liesl Laurie the one skill you need to defend yourself on Breakfast with Martin Bester.
