The Johannesburg SPCA issued a warning on Facebook asking people to contact them if they have more information.
Gauteng has had its fair share of wild animals roaming its streets in 2023 - and it seems it’s just not ending.
The JSPCA (Johannesburg Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals) issued a warning via a post on their Facebook page about reports of a lion or lioness roaming the streets of Oakdale, Johannesburg.

According to the post, they had received numerous reports that a lion was spotted in the Joburg suburb and was even seen near The Glen Shopping Centre.
"The JSPCA Inspectors have been out and about looking for the lion/lioness but have yet to spot one," said the Facebook post.
In the post, the SPCA warned people not to approach the lion if they spot it.

"Stay inside and phone our Duty Inspector on 083 604 1172. We are not sure if it is true or not but we are not taking chances - in SA anything is possible!!"
