Lira shares health update after SAMA nomination

South African singer Lira has been nominated for a SAMA, two months after suffering a stroke.

In April, it was confirmed that singer Lira had suffered a stroke while in Germany for a performance. 

The South African singer has confirmed that she is doing well and recovering two months after the stroke.

Lira shared her health update on social media after it was announced that she was nominated for a South African Music Award (SAMA). 

In an Instagram post on Tuesday, Lira shared the "special news" of her SAMA nomination. She also gave an update on her current health saying that she's "very well" and "slowly, slowly recovering".

The SAMA winner has been nominated in the Best Remix of the Year category for her collaboration with DJ Maphorisa on her song, 'Feel Good'.

At the time of her stroke, Lira's team confirmed that her ability to communicate, particularly her speech, had been impacted and that she was undergoing treatment.

Earlier in May, the singer shared her first update post stroke. 

"The stroke has unfortunately affected my speech; however, I am making lots of progress every day. I will be taking some time to focus on my recovery."
