When listening to Baron's song and Guetta's 'Light Headed', one can immediately hear similarities in the melody line and chord structure.
Baron joined Breakfast with Martin Bester to chat about his claims. Baron explained that he and his team did a bit of research and saw that Guetta was in South Africa in 2017, a time Children of the Sun was being played a lot on local radio. "Guetta was playing at Ultra that year, so there is a high possibility that one of the other DJs played my song and he heard it," he said.
"When I heard the song for the very first time it was the craziest feeling ever. It was a mixture of shock, disbelief, and honour."
Going forward
Baron roped in the help of top advisors in the music law field and went about alerting Guetta quietly in December 2018, sending him a formal legal letter stating that he wants to be credited and compensated accordingly.
When reaching out to Guetta's record label, Warner Music, Jacaranda FM was directed to deal directly with Guetta or his management team.
