South Africa's beloved loadshedding app, Eskom Se Push, has ventured into new avenues by releasing its first-ever single, 'Push Massekinners'.
Thirty years after the dawn of democracy, South Africans will once again take to the polls on 29 May 2024.
President Cyril Ramaphosa announced the election date on February 20.
In anticipation of what has been deemed the most fiercely contested elections since the advent of democracy, South Africa's leading loadshedding schedule app, Eskom Se Push, released a song to celebrate the election.

On 1 April 2024, every South African with the app received a notification of the song's release, and since it's been posted on all social media platforms.
'Push Massekinners' is an anthem that motivates South Africans to "take a stand" during the 2024 elections, despite facing daily adversity like loadshedding.

Of course, many South Africans picked up on the fact that the song was released on 1 April, also known as April Fool's Day.
This is the first time in the history of South Africa that independent candidates will be eligible to stand as candidates for presidential and provincial polls.
"Beyond the fulfilment of our constitutional obligation, these upcoming elections are also a celebration of our democratic journey and a determination of the future that we all desire," Ramaphosa said.

"I call on all South Africans to exercise their democratic right to vote and for those who will be campaigning to do so peacefully, within the full observance of the law. We also urge unregistered voters to use the online registration platform to register."
According to Jacaranda FM News, voters will have three ballot papers for the first time due to the participation of independent candidates.
The IEC will publish the final lists of candidates on 10 April, and certificates of candidature will be issued to certified candidates on 12 April.
On Friday, October 21, South African singer-songwriter Karen Zoid joined Martin Bester and the Breakfast team for a live performance of a new original song, 'They Cut The Power', which is co-written by Zoid's son, Ben Francis.
