Updated | By Etienne Bruwer
What would you do if someone took photos of your child without consent?
On Monday, newsreader and journalist Gerda de Sousa shared a terrifying story of three women taking non-consensual photos of her son.
While at a local shopping centre in Pretoria East, one of the women proceeded to sit next to De Sousa's son while he was seated on a bench.

"She's talking to the ladies behind her, and here they come with a camera; they're taking a photo of her and Aiden."
De Sousa addressed the incident immediately, asking the women what they were doing.

The three ladies told de Sousa they just wanted to take a photo with him. They alleged they were foreigners and wanted to "show that they are in South Africa".
Martin Bester also spoke to Jacques (surname not supplied), a member of The Hawks. He confirmed that human trafficking syndicates often take pictures of the children to build a "menu" of potential victims.
