Maryke Nel and Nesta have formed a unique and special bond!

Maryke Nel is a Pretoria local who has been an active runner and is currently training for a massive 75 km trail run.
While running in her neighbourhood one day, she realised that someone was running along with her!
That's how she met the kind-hearted, Nesta.

Nesta is a domestic worker who spotted Maryke on her run and, in her uniform, decided to join her for a little jog.
Maryke has been documenting her and Nesta's running journey on TikTok:
@maryke_nel I’m getting so much feedback regarding Nesta, so I thought I’d share. 😁 So I was on my run, listening to music, and I passed this special lady and greeted her on the passby, then all of a sudden she started running next to me. So I introduced myself and she told me her name is Nesta. We only ran about 100m then she just stopped by her house and told me that she’ll see me tomorrow again. And we parted ways. The next day, I made sure I ran the same time, but no Nesta. So I called her name in front of the house (because I had no other form of contacting her)…eventually she came out all snuggly in her gown and slippers and said we could run “tomorrow”. They have become good friends, with Maryke calling Nesta to tell her she's on her way and the two will set off on their run together.
Since starting their running journey, they have inspired many viewers to get active and people have been truly enjoying watching this relationship grow.
