Man cuffed to back of police vehicle, dragged through street

The horrific incident was caught on camera and shared on social media.
An investigation is underway after video footage of a man being cuffed to a police vehicle and dragged in the street went viral.
Crime Watch presenter and social activist Yusuf Abramjee shared the viral video, which reportedly took place in Cape Town.

The horrific video shows a man struggling while cuffed to a police vehicle. Moments later, police officials entered the car and started driving with the man still cuffed to the vehicle.

Angry onlookers can also be heard shouting and running after the moving van during the incident.
Other reports claim that an investigation is currently underway after the man sustained both head and body injuries.
Netwerk 24 reported that police were busy patrolling the Cape Town suburb of Kensington on Saturday when they spotted the man.
After searching the man, police officers allegedly found drugs in his possession.

‘’Disgruntled community members started pelting the police officers with stones while the suspect was already handcuffed,” said Police spokesperson Joseph Swartbooi.
“The SAPS members drove to a safe area where they placed the suspect into the holding area of the SAPS vehicle.’’
