This year, the 'Forever Summer' singer has decided to share his highlights from the South African music scene for 2024.
Everything Tyla has done
Tyla has taken the world by storm with her hits and debut album release. She is a South African who has successfully broken into the international market and achieved pop star status.
Australian country artist James Johnston teamed up with South African artist Appel to release a one-of-a-kind country song that incorporates both English and Afrikaans.
'Country Is for Me' has quickly become one of the favorites on the Jacaranda FM playlist, taking South Africa by storm.
'Hop Hop Spinnekop'
South African musician Kurt Darren has solidified himself as a household name in South Africa.
His iconic song, 'Kaptein', has crossed cultural and language boundaries, uniting South Africans and becoming one of the country's biggest songs.
Other songs, including 'Meisie, Meisie' and 'Loslappie', have had similar success in crossing the language barrier in South Africa.
Now, in 2024, Darren has done it once again.
His latest release, 'Hop Hop Spinnekop', has made waves across the music industry and quickly became a summer anthem for 2024.
Jan Bloukaas' last album
After his two-year battle with cancer, musician Jan Bloukaas passed on the evening of Wednesday, December 3. Before his passing, he fulfilled his final wish by producing his last album, titled "God Kan," which was released on November 29 and is currently available on all platforms
