Miss Universe Demi-Leigh Tebow shares terrifying carjacking incident
Updated | By Breakfast with Martin Bester
Former Miss Universe Demi-Leigh Tebow stopped by the Jacaranda FM studio to talk to Breakfast with Martin Bester about the release of her debut book, 'A Crown That Lasts: You Are Not Your Label'.
On 26 November 2017, Demi-Leigh Nel-Peters, now Tebow, was crowned Miss Universe at the 66th Miss Universe pageant, held at The AXIS in Las Vegas, Nevada, United States.
She became the second South African in history to claim the title, following Margaret Gardiner, who was crowned Miss Universe in 1978.
Since her reign, Tebow, who was born in Sedgefield in the Western Cape, has become one of the most influential voices on the international stage, using her platforms as Miss South Africa and Miss Universe to educate and inspire.

Tebow sets an illuminating example of finding purpose in the painful situations we go through, while delving deeper into her faith.
She encourages the readers, through her own personal experience, to not place their confidence in temporary success or accolades, but in discovering a greater God-given purpose, leaving behind a footprint of significance.
Selling more than 24,000 copies in the first week and praised as a “sincere invitation for readers to separate their identity from earthly accomplishments and reinvest it in their faith” (Publishers Weekly), the book solidifies Tebow as a best-selling debut author.
The book debuted at No. 6 on USA Today’s Best-selling Booklist (all-genre) and No. 4 on Publishers Weekly’s Hardcover Non-Fiction Best Sellers List.

Tebow shares her passion for living a values-driven life, her purpose inspired by her faith in God, and her insights about making an impact in sought-after keynotes and conversations.
Always a community-minded leader, she strives to bring compassion to hurting people all over the world and be a voice for the voiceless victims of human trafficking.
She lends her philanthropic vision to the Tim Tebow Foundation, raising awareness for the fight against human trafficking and supporting children with profound medical needs, among other impactful mission work.
