VIDEO: Mom goes viral for washing produce in dishwasher

Many people opt to wash their fruit and vegetables rather than eat them straight out of the container they bought them in.
The awareness of germs and washing produce has increased in recent years and has even become quite a trend on social media.

TikTokers and other content creators have dedicated videos to showing people how to wash their veggies.

According to food scientist Dr Stuart Farrimond, washing your produce is actually not just a fad but something he would recommend.
"The right thing to do is to wash your fruits and veg because there can be lots of nasty, harmful pathogens on there, bacteria that can be harmful," he told BBC.

"You don't know who's been handling it, you don't know what bacteria and what germs have been in the soil and even whether it's been washed before it gets to the supermarket."
Although washing your produce is a good idea, one mom has gone viral for taking it to the next level.
The viral video, which was shared on social media platform X, shows the mom packing her dishwasher with a variety of fruit and vegetables.
When asked whether a dishwasher should be used for dishes, the mom simply answered: "No, it can clean my fruits and vegetables."
