On Tuesday, tech giant Meta experienced a worldwide outage which affected both Facebook and Instagram, with the services refusing login attempts and feeds stalling.

According to The Guardian, the outages were reported at 17:30 (15:30 GMT), but social media was already flooded with reports and users noting the outage before the announcement.

This especially went off on X since the other two (Facebook and Instagram) were off.

Meta said in a statement on its new social network, Threads: "Earlier today, a technical issue caused people to have difficulty accessing some of our services. We resolved the issue as quickly as possible, and we apologise for any inconvenience."

Although the outage began to clear at 19:30, memes and comments still flooded X, and it was still a top trending topic on the platform on Wednesday.

Billionaire and X owner Elon Musk took this opportunity to jump on the platform quickly and take a dig at Meta.

Musk also responded to Stone's update:
