Netflix announces new 'Minecraft' animated series

Netflix has just released a teaser video for its upcoming 'Minecraft' animated series…
One of the biggest video games in the world is coming to your screens as an animated series.
On Thursday, streaming giant Netflix announced that it is developing a 'Minecraft' animated series.
"The best-selling game of all time & the biggest streamer in the world are teaming up to bring you a brand NEW 'Minecraft' Netflix animated series," said the media company.

The announcement was made at the 'Minecraft' 15-year anniversary celebration.

According to Variety, the series will be created alongside Mojang Studios, the Swedish game developer.
Although further details about the plot are unknown, the series "will feature an original story with new characters, showing the world of 'Minecraft' in a new light".
The brand-new series will be CG-animated and developed by with WildBrain, the Canadian studio who also worked on animations like 'Sonic Prime', 'Ninjago: Dragons Rising', and 'Carmen Sandiego.'

'Minecraft' is a wildly popular video game that was first made public in 2009 and fully released in 2011.
The game was released by Sandbox Games and developed by Mojang Studios.
