OUTsurance Pointsmen: OUT on Gauteng's roads again
Updated | By Breakfast with Martin Bester
After over a year without OUTsurance Pointsmen guiding traffic in the City of Gold, the free service to motorists has returned!
The OUTsurance Pointsmen are back in Johannesburg.
Commenting on the developments, TFF’s excited CEO, Bheki Zondo, stated: “The tender process has taken some time. However, we’d like to thank the City of Joburg for recognising our experience in running this crucial service since its inception. Of course, we could never have done it without OUTsurance standing by us from the beginning – especially during the last couple of years when the future was in doubt.”
TFF, which conceptualised and initiated the project 15 years ago, has now been able to re-create jobs, with 40 new Pointsmen (freshly trained by the JMPD) joining the 60-strong team already with the programme.

Danie Matthee, OUTsurance's CEO, is equally excited. “The Pointsmen have become an extension of our brand, and its values, and we’re delighted to see them return to Johannesburg. More importantly, we are thrilled to be able to play our part in providing much-needed jobs,” he said.
The free service will last for at least the next five years in Jozi, according to the agreement.
