Parkhurst man tackles violent mugger to save woman

Arlin Visagie heard a woman in agony and immediately knew something was wrong.
Arlin Visagie from Parkhurst in Johannesburg was relaxing in his garden when he heard a woman screaming in the road.
Breakfast with Martin Bester spoke to Visagie on 8 December.
“As I walked out towards the road, I could see a woman lying on the ground. I saw this guy running towards me who appeared to be an attacker.” Arlin said.

CCTV footage was released of the incident where one can see how the woman was attacked by the mugger who pretended to be a jogger. The woman, who was on her way to work, sustained a slight leg injury after being dragged on the tar.
In the video, one can see Arlin went in for the tackle and the attacker fell to the ground. The suspect was arrested.
