POLL: Who do you think will win the American election?
Updated | By Breakfast with Martin Bester
Polls for the American election are set to open on Tuesday at 6am (1pm in South Africa).
On Tuesday, 5 November, American citizens will head to the polls to vote for the next American president.
Former President Donald Trump and Democratic candidate, vice president Kamala Harris, have rallied across the United States over the past few months to gain support.

The polarising election year has been tumultuous, to say the least, leading up to the most hotly contested election in modern US history.
Voters will either choose America's first female president or hand the presidential chair back to the Republican candidate.
According to AFP, polls are showing a dead heat. Trump promised to lead the United States to "new heights of glory", while Harris said the "momentum is on our side" as the rivals held their last rallies of the 2024 race in crucial battleground states.

"This could be one of the closest races in history - every single vote matters," said Harris.
"With your vote tomorrow, we can fix every single problem our country faces and lead America - indeed, the world - to new heights of glory," Trump said.
So, we want to ask you...
Who do you think will be the next president of the US?
