Prisoner escapes on hijacked helicopter

Ever heard of a prisoner escaping on a
hijacked helicopter? Believe it, because it’s true!
A famous gangster is making news headlines after escaping prison in an unusual way in the Paris region.
It is Redoine Faid’s second prison break. His first successful attempt happened five years ago.
Faid was busy serving a 25-year sentence for an unsuccessful robbery in which a police officer was killed.

France’s Justice Minister Nicole Belloubet described his second escape as a “spectacular escape”. So much so that 3,000 police officers are on a manhunt for him after two gunmen in balaclavas used smoke bombs and angle-grinders to break into the room where Faid was.

A third accomplice guarded the helicopter and the pilot who the men took hostage.
