Professor Glenda Gray is the first female President and CEO of the South African Medical Research Council (SAMRC) and joined Breakfast with Martin Bester for an informative discussion on the current COVID-19 strain South Africans are experiencing.
Professor Gray is the Chair of the Research Committee on COVID-19, providing scientific evidence and medical research information to the Minister of Health and the National Coronavirus Command Council.

Gray joined Breakfast with Martin Bester to discuss the third wave in South Africa and the number of positive cases in Gauteng.
Professor Gray says: ”The symptoms are a bit different. You’ll have a runny nose and a headache. Looking at the data, it doesn’t look like the variant is worse, but the young people in South Africa are driving the Delta variant."
