Rising food prices in South Africa concerning, sparks debate
Updated | By Etienne Bruwer
The rising food prices at some of South Africa's major food retailers have many left worried...
Actor and presenter Nico Panagio recently shared a Tweet in which he took on one of South Africa's major retailers for their steep rise in food prices.
Dear @WOOLWORTHS_SA been wonderful having you around - great quality (most of the time) however since you keep putting your prices up (weekly it seems), you're gonna see us less & less. Thought I should tell you since we've been in a trading relationship for so very long.

This sparked a debate in which many South Africans agreed that the rise in food prices is not just a problem with specific retailers, but rather South Africa as a whole.
