South Africa ranks among countries with highest crime rates

South Africa has made the Top 10 list of countries with the highest criminality.

This is definitely not the Top 10 list any country wants to be a part of.
Every day, South Africans all across the country are faced with the impact of extremely high levels of criminal activity.

It would thus not come as a shock that South Africa has ranked among the Top 10 countries with the highest criminality.
Global Initiative Against Transnational Organised Crime (GI-TOC) recently released its global organised crime index report which ranks the criminally of 193 countries.
South Africa ranked 7th out of 193 countries.
Here is the full Top 10 list:
- Myanmar
- Colombia
- Mexico
- Paraguay
- Democratic Republic of Congo
- Nigeria
- South Africa
- Iraq
- Afghanistan
- Lebanon
According to The Citizen, the index is measured by criminal markets and criminal actors in each country. Look at this interactive map to see where each country ranks.

Interestingly, Africa is the continent with the second highest criminality after Asia.
