SA's Ambassador to the Ukraine speaks on deadly conflict

South Africa's Ambassador to the Ukraine André Groenewald spoke about the current conflict between Russia and Ukraine.

Russia's invasion of Ukraine has become global news and has caused concern.

On Sunday, Jacaranda FM News reported that Russia ordered its troops to advance "from all directions" as it pounds the Ukrainian military with cruise missiles.
Ukraine's health minister said 198 civilians, including three children, have been killed and 1,115 wounded since Russia invaded.

The Department of Mineral Resources and Energy also announced massive hikes amid the escalating diplomatic crisis between Russia and Ukraine.
South Africa's Ambassador to the Ukraine André Groenewald spoke to Breakfast with Martin Bester about the current situation between Russia and Ukraine.

Groenewald ensured South Africans that he is safe and has been assisting trapped South Africans.
Groenewald has urged fellow Kyiv residents and South Africans to avoid roads and take shelter where possible.

"The problem now is to get South Africans to the borders to get them out but the circumstances are really bad."
