A new global study has revealed South Africans' most hated social media app…

Naturally, people have developed preferences for social media, choosing which ones they love and which ones they hate.
In a new global study, Mailsuite analysed the Google Play Store reviews of nearly 1,500 communication and social media apps.
This data was used to rank each social media platform in every country.
Here are the results:
Facebook got the top spot in South Africa, being ranked as the most-loved social media platform in the country.
The rest of the world, however, shares a different feeling about the Meta-owned platform, as it was named the most hated social media platform in 39 countries, including the UK, Australia, Canada, and India.
South Africa's most hated social media platform was Reddit.

"The content-sharing site (Reddit) was a straggler to the app realm, undergoing a major renovation to become usable on mobile browsers in 2010 and finally buying up third-party Reddit reader Alien Blue in 2014 and rebranding it as the official Reddit mobile app," said Mailsuite.
"Reddit updated the app's conversation navigation and loading times in April 2024, following widespread criticism that the app was slow and unintuitive to use."
The most loved social media app worldwide was TikTok, with 30 countries, including the UK, Canada, New Zealand, and Australia, naming it their favourite.
