Several roads to be affected by march on Monday

Several streets in Tshwane will be affected by a planned March on Monday, 5 August.
The Tshwane Metropolitan Police have warned road users that several roads will be affected by a march on Monday, 5 August 2024, in Philip Nel, Pretoria West, by SANCO Ward 60.
According to the official press statement, the purpose of the march is to motivate all projects at Pretoria West Hospital to consider hiring locals.

Marchers will gather from 09:00 at Philip Nel Pick n Pay parking and march to Pretoria West Hospital.
Here is the route as set out by the press statement:
From the gathering point, they will join Sytze Wierda Avenue and proceed straight until they reach Pretoria West Hospital.
They are expected to disperse from Pretoria West Hospital at 12:00.
The following streets will be affected:
• Sytze Wierda Avenue
• Morkel Street
• Strause Street
• Robert Cole Bowen Street

Motorists are advised to use alternative routes such as:
• Transoranje Road
• Pearcy Eagle Street
• Waynand Smith Street
• Gustav Schmikl Street
The statement said: "Tshwane Metro Police and South African Police Service officers will be deployed to monitor the march and all affected streets."
