Should schools impose dress code guidelines for parents or not?

A school in Houston, Texas, has announced that parents must also follow
dress code guidelines.
The principal of a school in the USA has announced dress code guidelines for parents a day after a mother was denied entry to the school because of her attire.
The mother wore a T-shirt dress and headscarf.

The school released a press release stating that they value parents, as they are a child's first teacher.
The school also mentioned that they have standards which must be respected.
Martin Bester gave listeners the opportunity to weigh in on the conversation. One listener said that they must impose guidelines for parents because some parents are an embarrassment.
