News anchors and reporters often have some of the funniest blooper videos on the internet.

These moments often go viral and live on for years and years.

The most recent viral video shows the moment a news anchor swallowed a fly during a live broadcast.

Vanessa Welch, a Boston 25 News anchor, has gained a lot of attention online for holding her composure after a fly flew from her eye into her mouth.

The clip shows the fly sitting near the anchor's eye, and as she blinked to shoo it away, the insect unexpectedly fell into her mouth.

Despite a slight reaction after she seemingly swallowed the fly, Welch continued delivering the news as if nothing happened.

The clip has since gone viral, and although many found it hilarious, other social media users also praised the anchor for her determination and professionalism.

"On Boston25, the news anchor demonstrated true journalistic professionalism," wrote NEXTA, who also shared the clip

Some social media users, however, shared their concern about the expectations placed on anchors in the workplace.

"I'd much rather have my news interrupted than for someone to feel like they have to swallow a fly in order to perform adequately," said one user.

"'Professional' has become a dirty word, not at all associated with 'GOOD work ethics' & this anchors actions is just on par with that. Keeping 'the show' going at any expense, doesn't represent professionalism," commented another.
