Markle told her friend Serena Williams about a visit she, Harry, and their young boy, Archie, took to South Africa back in 2019.
She included a story where she claims that the "housing unit" that they lived in caught fire. Management from the "unit" said that the heater was smoking, but an actual fire is unrecorded.
South Africans were also outraged that the Duchess referred to a "housing unit", when in fact they stayed at a mansion in Cape Town.

Megan is now accused of sounding entitled and belittling South Africa and its people, despite the couple professing in public their love for the country.
Haibo! Mzansi is this the “housing unit” Meghan Markle is talking about in Cape Town? 🙄 Can we launch a probe? She is giving us a bad name. #VoetsekMeghan #MeghanMarkIsEntitled pic.twitter.com/vvrvevkSz7
