An airbus made history after it flew from Cape Town to the ice-covered Antarctica.

The Airbus A340 is one of the heaviest aircraft to land on a runway in Antarctica.
The airbus departed from Cape Town International Airport at 08:00 with 23 passengers on board.

The airbus is said to carry scientists, cargo, and tourists to Antarctica in the summer.
