In 2024, Breakfast with Martin Bester went on a search to find the perfect four dads to form its very own dad band.
Since finding our four dads, The Dadness has now released their very first single.

How the dad band came to be
In the lead-up to Father's Day 2024, we asked children to nominate their dads if they thought they had what it took to be part of a dad band
After the nominations flooded in, our team selected eight finalists and then asked the public to vote for their favourites.

Finally, Breakfast with Martin Bester found the four dads to join South Africa's first-ever dad band.
What's a band without a name?
The next step was to find a suitable name. After much consideration and input from our listeners, The Dadness was born.
They made their performance debut on Breakfast with Martin Bester’s Friday Live on Friday, June 14.
