WATCH: KZN pupil sets deputy principal's car alight

A Grade 10 student in KwaZulu-Natal allegedly set the car alight in the school parking lot.
After reprimanding a Grade 10 student for being on his phone, the deputy principal's car was allegedly set alight by the student.
Reportedly, the student, who remains unknown, was caught with his phone, which is against school policy.

A spokesperson at the Department of Education in KZN, Kwazi Mthethwa, allegedly said that the student's phone was confiscated and put in a safe place.
Mthethwa added that the department "condemns this barbaric act" and will "act decisively on the matter".
After being sent home, the student returned, threw petrol on the deputy principal's car, and set it alight.

Video footage of the incident shows a man rushing to put out the fire while students can be heard screaming and shouting.
