After years of being inactive on social media, Meghan Markle, the 43-year-old Duchess of Sussex, made her return to Instagram on January 1, 2025.

Her first post under the Instagram handle @meghan, which has long been rumoured to belong to the Duchess, is a video. In the video, Markle, dressed in an all-white outfit, runs along the beach before stopping to write "2025" in the sand
According to PEOPLE, it is believed that her husband, Prince Harry, shot the video at a public beach near their Montecito, California home.

The Duchess of Sussex also updated her Instagram profile picture with a striking black-and-white photo of her in another all-white outfit.
It has been two years since the former 'Suits' star hinted at the possibility of returning to Instagram.
In an interview with The Cut, published in August 2023, Markle said, "Do you want to know a secret? I'm getting back… on Instagram."

However, she later expressed uncertainty about whether she would actually return to Instagram.
Before her marriage to Prince Harry, Markle had three million followers on an Instagram account under her own name, as well as a lifestyle blog, 'The Tig'.
